Changing Lives, One Surgery at a Time
Established in 2005 by Dr. Franklin Rose and philanthropist and silhouette artist Cindi Harwood Rose the Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation provides free reconstructive surgeries for post-cancer survivors who are not able to afford health insurance. Several years ago, Cindi Rose’s sister, Holly Harwood Skolkin, was diagnosed with breast cancer and told she had three months to live. More than seven years later, Holly is in stable condition and feeling great. After learning of their sister’s illness and discovering that more than 45 million such Americans are without health insurance, Dr. Franklin and Cindi Rose made it their mission to help those in need.
Today, The Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation, a 501 c 3 organization, underwrites reconstruction surgeries for dozens of such patients each year.
A mission that’s growing
Since its inception in 2005 in Houston, Texas, The Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation, in collaboration with Cindi Rose, Dr. Franklin Rose and with Tony Rotondo, CEO of the First Street Surgical Center, has helped many breast cancer survivors, including women, men, and children by providing free reconstructive surgery.
